She thanked staff and students for thinking of the charity at this time when the food bank is experiencing increased demand.
Katrina Cassidy, pastoral support officer at James Calvert Spence College, said: “For this year’s Christmas jumper day we thought it was particularly important to support the local community. It’s been a difficult year for lots of local families, and students were so happy to be able to help.”
There is a food bank drop-off point at Amble Co-op and ready-packed bags of items at Morrisons in Amble.
