Wooler Parish Council poised to freeze precept
Wooler Parish Council has indicated it plans to freeze its precept in 2020/21.
In 2019/20 it had increased its precept by 12 per cent, totalling £26,661.
However, chairman Mark Mather said the council had been prudent in its spending and the exceptional voluntary work done by councillors helped to keep costs down.
He said: “We have had a couple of big years to get us where we needed to be so I would proposed no increase in the precept.”
This was agreed by members.
