AN INSTALLATION by members of Union Quay Artists Collective has taken up residence at Tynemouth Station.
Throughout the Studio – Signalling Change project, five artists will set up temporary studios within The Bridge, at Tynemouth Station, allowing the public to observe artists at work and the development of paintings, photography, print and collage bas
ed around the theme of the station.

Arts co-ordinator for the Station, Ylana First MBE, said: "This is to be a most unusual and interesting 'living' installation, involving artists actually working on their projects, which is always fascinating to spectators."

Studio, based on an original idea by group member Rolf Wojciechowski, aims to offer a rare insight into artists' working methods and studio conditions as well as supporting the ongoing regeneration of the site.

Weekly bulletins will be posted detailing which artists will be working in The Bridge.

In addition, members of the public can further follow progress and comment on the project can visit www.studiotynemouthstation.blogspot.com

The exhibition which runs until June 30, is suppoted by Arts Council England North East, North Tyneside Arts, North Tyneside Council, Station Developments Ltd, Friends of Tynemouth Station and Nexus.
