NORTH Tyneside will stage a traditional north east tribute to England's patron saint on St George's Day.
Events will be held throughout Thursday, April 23, featuring music, singing, poetry and prose from the borough's schoolchildren, musical groups and individual performers.

And the celebrations will culminate in an evening concert at 7pm in Wallsend Memorial Hall.

Mayor John Harrison said: "Once again we're paying tribute to our very own patron saint in our own local way, whilst at the same time bringing together the talent we have across the generations in North Tyneside."

Tickets are still available for the free, evening concert, call Lisa Topliss on (0191) 643 8516.
