A MAN has been re-arrested after an 89-year-old died in hospital almost a month after being attacked at his Tyneside home.
Harold Lindley was found with serious facial injuries by neighbours in Walker Grove, Walker on April 17.

Michael Stephenson, 20, of Westbury Avenue, Newcastle was re-arrested yesterday (Thursday) and later technically bailed, but remains in custody charged with robbery and causing grievous bodily harm.

The results of a post-mortem examination into Mr Lindley's death were inconclusive.

Further tests were being carried out with results expected to take up to six weeks.
