A NEW campaign is being launched to show smokers how easy it is to get help in North Tyneside.
This week, Fresh Smoke Free North East launched its 'Around the Corner' campaign to highlight the diverse range of NHS Stop Smoking Services in the borough.

The campaign will signpost more than 1,000 help points region-wide and 166 in North Tyneside and Newcastle.

GP surgeries, pharmacies, schools and community centres are just some of the locations in the campaign.

Specialist stop smoking advisor for North Tyneside Primary Care Trust, Jen Anderson, said: "Quitting is the single most important thing someone can do to improve their health.

"There are many ways that the NHS Stop Smoking services can advise, help and support smokers as they quit smoking.

"Here in Newcastle and North Tyneside we have 166 locations that smokers can come to and meet our friendly advisors to get the help they need to successfully quit.

"It's absolutely vital that smokers realise we really are just around the corner from where they work and live."
