A PRIVATE estate in Northumberland is holding a one-off fundraising event to support a cancer charity.
Blagdon Estate in Northumberland is opening its gates to the public on Sunday, July 12, in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Organisers say it is a unique opportunity to see the beautiful estate while raising money to help those people living with cancer.

There will be a host of activities at the estate including clay pigeon shooting, a bee observation hive, fly-casting lessons, and a collection of classic cars including the world famous 'Ridley Special'.

A six-a-side cricket match will also be held, with spectators having the chance to enjoy strawberries and cream.

Visitors can also enjoy the gardens, a children's craft marquee and stalls selling local food and produce.

Tickets cost £5, with under 16s free.

Arriva are providing a shuttle bus for the day, leaving Haymarket via Regent Centre Metro station every half hour.
