Evolution sells out

PREPARATIONS are in full swing for the Evolution music festival taking place on bank holiday Monday on the Newcastle Gateshead quaysides.
Tickets have sold out for the biggest music festival in the North East, where Kate Nash (pictured), Reverend And The Makers, Duffy, Lightspeed Champion, The Streets, New Young Pony Club, and Does It Offend You Yeah? are just some of the names on the bill for Newcastle's Evolution Festival.
Evolution 08 follows on from last years free event – Freevolution, but this year tickets are £3, with the money raised going to Northumbrian Water's adopted international charity WaterAid – the official charity of the festival for the third year running.
A crowd of of over 60,000 is expected to attend the outdoor show at Spiller's Wharf and Baltic Square on the Gateshead quayside on Monday, May 26.
Confirmed artists for the Spillers Wharf are The Streets, Kate Nash, Reverend And The Makers, Duffy, Glasvegas, Lightspeed Champion, The Whip, and This Ain't Vegas.
The line-up for the Baltic Square stage is CSS, New Young Pony Club, Crystal Castles, Does It Offend You Yeah?, Hercules And The Love Affair, Who Made Who, The Ghost Frequency, and Kenevil.
A selection of special events will be held in the days leading up to this finale at The Sage Gateshead, Digital, Carling Academy Newcastle and The Cluny.
Doors open on Bank Holiday Monday at 12pm and the music finishes on both outdoor stages at 11pm.
