Flood relief scheme gains commendation

SHIREMOOR'S Flood Relief Scheme has won a commendation at a construction awards ceremony.
In the Construction Excellence Awards 2008, Shiremoor's Flood Relief Scheme was highly commended in the Project of the Year category and the Innovation award.

The scheme was built on behalf of Northumbrian Water by Seymours Civil Engineering and designed by Mott MacDonald.

It was also highly commended in the Integration and Collaborative category.

The Shiremoor Service Centre, by Roberston Construction, Newcastle and North Tyneside LIFT Company, B3 Architects and White Young Green was commended in the value category.

Awards were given out at a ceremony at the Marriott Hotel in Gosforth Park with more than 500 people in attendance.
