A NORTH Tyneside Council leisure centre is opening its doors this weekend for free.
On Sunday, July 5, from 1pm to 5pm, Marden Bridge Sports Centre, on Hillheads Road, Whitley Bay, will be letting people use its facilities free of charge.

The sports on offer will include badminton, football and trampolining. Children will also be treated to a bouncy castle and face painting.

The event will give people the chance to meet and talk to club members at the sports centre, and forms part of North Tyneside's Year of Sport.

The Year of Sport aims to get as many residents as possible involved in sport and physical activity, give a helping hand to talented athletes and recognise unsung sporting heroes.

Children under-14 must be accompanied by someone over the age of 16.

For more information, contact Marden Bridge Sports Centre on (0191) 643 2929.
