Mariam Ashraff, from Newcastle, was just 14 when she went missing after visiting friends in Glasgow on March 9, 2006. She has not been seen or heard of since.

The charity hopes to generate vital information about Mariam's whereabouts by publicising her photo across 800,000 Iceland milk cartons.

Director of Fundraising and Marketing at Missing People, Alison Cowan, said: "Missing People provides support for missing children, vulnerable adults and families left in limbo.

"The charity also searches - securing publicity that could end years of heartache.

"We are hugely grateful to Iceland supermarket for their support of this awareness raising. "

Those known to have been found directly as a result of the previous Iceland appeals include a vulnerable 16-year-old missing for more than seven months.

Chief Executive of Iceland, Malcolm Walker said: "We are really pleased to be working with Missing People through these milk carton appeals.

"Not only does this campaign raise the profile of Mariam's case and keep the search for her alive, but it also raises awareness of many others like her who go missing every year."

As well as appealing to the public to contact Missing People with any information about Mariam, each carton label will urge Mariam herself to contact the charity's Runaway Helpline.
