Man robbed in broad daylight

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man was robbed in broad daylight in Whitley Bay.
On Thursday, July 9, at 9.30am, a 19-year-old man was walking along Park View, Whitley Bay, beside the NatWest Bank when he was approached by four youths who took him down a back lane between the Fat Ox public house and Klick photos where he was assaulted and robbed of a small amount of cash.

The victim received minor injuries and did not require medical treatment.

Police are appealing for witnesses to contact Northumbria Police on 03456 043043 ext 63244 or ring the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

A 17 year-old youth and two 20 year-old men have been charged with robbery and a 19-year-old man has been bailed pending further enquiries. Enquiries are continuing.
