THIS year My Little Pony will celebrate its 25th birthday.
My Little Pony is an iconic toy, which continues to grow in popularity and range innovation, making it as relevant today as it was when it launched in 1983.

And to celebrate My Little Pony's 25th anniversary, the makers of the toy have launched a global design competition for one lucky fan to design a pony.

"The My Little Pony Project: 25 Ponies for 25 Years" invites international influencers including celebrities, fashion designers, artists and of course the fans, to design a collection of 25 one-of-a-kind My Little Pony 18-inch figures.

Hasbro US officially launched the program with the unveiling of the first two custom ponies in February: a "Silver" pony from Hasbro and Twinkle Hope, a pony designed for Give Kids The World Village (a nonprofit organisation that works to fulfill the wishes of all children with life-threatening illnesses and the charitable partner for the My Little Pony 25th birthday celebration).

Hasbro plans to introduce 23 additional one-of-a-kind project Ponies throughout the year, which will include one winning design from Europe.

In September, the project will culminate in a gallery exhibition in New York City where 'The My Little Pony Project: 25 Ponies for 25 Years' collection will be on display in its entirety for the very first time.

The entire collection will be available for auction, with proceeds going to Give Kids The World Village.
