Police name man who fell to his death from promenade

POLICE have named the man who fell to his death from Whitley Bay promenade at the weekend.
He has been named as 37-year-old Alexander Thomas Davison, of Avenue Terrace, Seaton Delaval.

Shortly after 6pm on Saturday police received reports that aman had fallen from the promenade and sustained severe head injuries.

An ambulance crew attended the scene and Mr Davison was taken to North Tyneside General Hospital where he later died.

Police are still establishing the circumstances of the his death and are appealing for anyone who was on the promenade at the time to contact North Shields CID on 03456 043043.
