RESIDENTS are being invited to give their views and ideas on how best to use the site of a former Wallsend school.
North Tyneside Council is giving people the chance to offer opinions about the former Parkside School and grounds, in Mullen Road.

A number of 'drop-in' sessions have been arranged following a pledge by Mayor John Harrison that there would be enga
gement with local residents over the future use of the site.

The informal sessions will be held at:

  • Jubilee School, Wallsend, on Tuesday, May 20, between 3pm and 6pm

  • Westholme Farm Club, Wallsend, on Wednesday, May 21, between 7pm and 9pm

  • St Bernadette's Church Hall, Wallsend, on Thursday, May 22, between 2pm and 5pm

Residents will be able to give their views in confidence at the events, which will be attended by council officers along with representatives from Sure Start, VODA, North Tyneside Primary Care Trust and other organisations.

People living near the Parkside School site will also receive a questionnaire and further information.

Anyone who wants more information should contact (0191) 643 7400.

The former Ashleigh School in North Shields and Parkside School in Wallsend amalgamated into a new all-age special school for 120 pupils – now known as Beacon Hill School.
