CHILDREN at St Mary's School in Marden estate ended the year in style by holding a sixties themed day.
The day was a celebration of the life in the school in the 1960s, which involved children exploring all aspects of the decade.

Parents were asked to bring in any artefacts they had from the period to aid the children's learning.

Clothes, books, LPs and even a programme from the 1966 World Cup final were given to the school for the special history week.

Headteacher Pete Murray said: "The response from the children has been great.

"They've been really engaged by the whole project, some have started a love of music and shared it with teachers.

"They love the art and the fashion – they're enthralled with the whole '60s period."
