AN IRISH 'super group' which helped create the sound of modern Celtic music in the 1970s is set to perform at the Tyneside Irish Centre.
Members of legendary band Patrick Street played in a variety of groups like the Bothy Band, Plantxy, DeDannan and Battlefield band before joining forces in 1986 and has been hailed by the Washington Post as 'the best Celtic music group in the world right now'.

The gig takes place on Thursday, May 22 at the Tyneside Irish Centre, Gallowgate, Newcastle at 8 pm. Tickets are £12.50 and are available from Windows on (0191) 232 135.
