THE Tynemouth Volunteer Life Brigade were called out last Thursday after a member of the public reported two swimmers in difficulty at King Edward's Bay.
When the brigade arrived it seemed that a number of swimmers were enjoying the warm sun and cold sea but no one was in any apparent difficulty.

It was noticed that two wet-suited swimmers were close to the sea wall at the north of the bay in a small swell, neither were in any major danger but one was starting to struggle against the swell pushing him into the sea wall.

The pair were ordered out of the water, which they proceeded to do, and asked to swim in safer waters.
