Top honour for Northumbria University professor

A TOP university professor has received a national award for her contribution to the advancement to nursing and health care.
Professor Kath McCourt, Associate Dean at Northumbria University's School of Health, Community and Education Studies has been made a Fellow of the Royal College of Nursing (FRCN), the highest honour that the Royal College of Nursing (RCN) can award.

Prof McCourt who started her career as a nurse and midwife and later worked abroad before coming back to the north east to work and lecture at Master degree level said: "This is a great honour.

"I have dedicated my career to furthering the quality of nursing and nurse education and it is there fore very special to have my achievements recognised by the RCN."
