Tributes are paid as Quaker worker dies

A GROUP of friends have raised £2,000 for a charity by taking part in a coast to coast bike ride.
Jackie Sewell and her pals completed the gruelling ride from Whitehaven to Tynemouth to raise the cash for cancer charity, the Chris Lucas Trust.

Before finishing in Tynemouth the group stopped by the Dolphin Pub on the Fish Quay to change into their Chris Lucas T-shirts and pub-goers had a whip-round and raised £70.

Then it was on to the finishing line in Tynemouth where the landlord of the Turk's Head had generously put on a free buffet for their family and friends. The group would like to thank all the generous people who helped.
