A WOMAN stole four televisions worth a combined £2,250 following four visits to a major brand store.
Crimestoppers is appealing for witnesses following the thefts at the Matalan store in Killingworth.

The incidents happened just before and a month after Christmas 2007.

The woman entered the store at around 1.50pm on Wednesday, December 19, last year, removed a boxed JVC television worth £599.98 from the display and left the store with the TV without paying for it.

At around 3pm the same day she returned to the store, selected a boxed Goodmans television worth £549.99 and again left without paying.

The following day, at around 1pm, the same woman entered the store and removed a boxed JVC television, worth £599.98, and went without paying.

Then on Friday, January 25, this year, at around 11.30am, the woman entered the store again and took a boxed Bush television – worth £499.98 – from the display and walked out without paying.

The woman is described as white, aged 30 to 40 years, of slim build, with long dark straight hair parted in the middle.

On various dates she has worn a black and white check length jacket or a grey cardigan over a black long sleeve top.

Anyone who has information about the thefts or knows the woman involved is asked to contact Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
