AN ACADEMY offering performing arts training for youngsters is now enrolling.
Day8 Academy offers training for young people in a fun environment, incorporating all aspects of theatre, Day8 use music, dance and drama to inspire creativity and performance and to improve self confidence.
Students will learn basic stage-craft as well as lighting, sound and dramatic technique along the way.
Day8 productions Director Claire Willis said: “Our sessions are led by experienced performers as well as having workshops with professional actors and musicians in our programme, providing Academy students with a unique insight into the world of showbusiness.”
The YMCA in North Shields will play host to the Academy starting on Sunday, September 4, with classes for four to six-year-olds from 2pm to 3pm, seven to 11-year-olds from 1pm to 2.30pm, and classes for 12 to 18-year-olds, from 2.30pm to 4pm.
Sessions start from £6.50 per week with an initial free taster sessions available for children wishing to try it out for the first time.
The academy will also be running six adult master classes throughout the year looking at audition technique, vocal projection, accent training and more.
