A series of artists have been announced to perform at the Playhouse Whitley Bay as part of this year’s Mouth of the Tyne Festival.
Nadine Shah, Midlake and John Cooper Clarke, will join the line up for the festival this July.
South Tyneside singer-songwriter and rising star Nadine Shah will be taking to the stage on Wednesday, July 9.
Regularly compared to Nick Cave and PJ Harvey, she supported The Futureheads at the Playhouse as part of the festival last year and now returns with her own headline show, where she will be supported by North Tyneside’s Sam Fender.
American folk-rock band Midlake will be making their debut at the Playhouse on Thursday, July 10, as part of their European tour to celebrate the release of their new album ‘Antiphon’.
And punk poet John Cooper Clarke will return to the theatre for the first time since 2010 to give a performance on Wednesday, July 16.
