Bringing Far East to north east

Have your say

I ENTERED the big top in Times Square with some trepidation this week, as the Ladyboys of Bangkok took to the makeshift stage.

Unsure of what to expect, the 16 ladyboys burst onto the stage bringing some of the far east to the north east with their unique comic cabaret show that included everything from Disney’s Little Mermaid to Lady Gaga and Beyonce.

Even Jordan and Peter Andre make an appearance in the show, which is peppered with a host of songs like In The Navy and YMCA.

But it was the Man I Feel Like A Woman sketch that was the most apt – and mind-boggling – of the night that gave the audience a real taste of what the ladyboys are all about, complete with nipple tassles and suspenders.

One of the show’s highlights was an incredible moving performance of Shirley Bassey’s This Is My Life, where the dress and wig was stripped off.

Despite not knowing what to expect, I laughed from start to finish.

The show is in Times Square until Saturday.
