A BOROUGH church which is 200-years-old is holding an open day this weekend.
St Peter’s in Church Bank, Wallsend, will open its doors from 10am to 4pm on Saturday.
Visitors will get the opportunity view the largest collection of Irish stained glass windows in the country.
Also at the church is a 16th century chest which appeared on the BBC TV’s Antiques Roadshow after it was rescued for being sent to a tip.
There is also a Roman font and an angel carved roof.
A small number of stalls will also be in place and home-made refreshments will be available.
