Crime authors prepare to take to the high seas

North Tyneside Libraries have joined forces with DFDS Seaways to deliver a crime event with a difference thi sSeptember.

On Sunday, September 29, three best-selling crime writers – Val McDermid, Mark Billingham and Martyn Waites – will be sailing to Amsterdam from the Port of Tyne at North Shields on the King Seaways Ferry.

Val, Mark and Martyn will be talking about their books, their lives and what inspires them to write.

On the way out there’s a chance to enjoy a pre-dinner drink and dinner on board with the authors, and after dinner they will be taking part in a question and answer panel event.

When arriving in Amsterdam the following morning there’s an opportunity to sightsee in the vibrant city or shop and relax in its many bars and restaurants.

Back on the ferry during the sailing home the authors will be hosting a ‘Crime on the Tyne’ quiz.

Prices start from £110 per person based on two people sharing whichs includes welcome refreshment, dinner on first evening, breakfast on first morning, and exclusive access to some of the more popular crime writers in the country.
