AUDITIONS are being held this weekend for talented young dancers.

DanceAction is holding the auditions on Sunday, September 9, at The King’s School in Tynemouth.

Following a successful year, company founder Julia Murray is aiming to expand the provision and start a new performance group for seven to 11-year-olds called ‘ContrAction’.

Julia said: “We are really pleased to be able to offer the same level of high quality dance training to younger dancers.

“Our dancers improve their technique and performance skills by working with professional dancers and choreographers, but most importantly, we focus on raising confidence and self-esteem.”

Auditions on Sunday will take place from noon to 2pm for seven to 11-year-olds and 2.30pm to 4.30pm for 12 to 17-year-olds.

“We are looking for dancers with potential,” said Julia. “There will be a technique class followed by a creative session led by myself and our youth leaders.”

DanceAction has weekly classes for children and adults. For more information or to reserve a place at the auditions e-mail enquiries@danceaction.co.uk
