A PRODUCTION company has begun enrolling for the new 2012/13 academic year.

The Day8 Academy, part of Day8 Productions, offers performing arts training for young people in a fun environment.

They use music, dance, and drama to inspire creativity, performance and self confidence.

Students will learn basic stage-craft as well as lighting, sound and dramatic technique.

Claire Willis, Day8 productions director, said: “Our sessions are led by experienced performers as well as having workshops with professional actors and musicians in our programme, providing academy students with a unique insight into the world of musical theatre.

“Day8 prides itself on the value for money and the quality of experience provided for each student, no matter what their ability, with fees significantly lower than many other local providers.”

The academy will start on Sunday, September 2, at Whitley Bay Young Peoples Centre with five-year-old to six-year-old classes from 1.30pm to 2.30pm; seven to tens 1.30pm to 3pm; and 11 to 18-year-olds 2.30pm to 4pm.
