NANCI Griffith is touring the UK to plug her new album Intersection and will be at the Sage Gateshead on Thursday.
Intersection is the Texas-born singer-songwriter’s first album for three years and her 20th overall.
The 58-year-old’s best-known songs include From a Distance, Lone Star State of Mind and Love at the Five and Dime.
As well as winning a Grammy award in 1994, the country-folk singer has collaborated with all and sundry over the years, including Willie Nelson, Adam Duritz, Lyle Lovett, the Chieftains, John Prine, Emmylou Harris, REM’s Peter Buck and ex-Dire Strait Mark Knopfler.
