Residents of a North Tyneside care home enjoyed a programme of seasonal music when 40 primary school children performed for them.

Pupils from St Mary’s Primary School in Forest Hall drew enthusiastic applause from the residents at Granville Lodge when singing traditional carols and seasonal songs.

The event was sponsored by umbrella charity Angels of the North who also presented yuletide decorations to the care home.

The charity’s honorary chief executive officer Barbara Connors-Fowler said: “I am delighted that the pupils of St Mary’s Primary School have helped to spread joy to the residents of Granville Lodge.”
