A brother and sister from the borough have wowed the judging panel on a national singing competition for the second year in a row.
Fourteen-year-old Bethany Miller and her 11-year-old brother Brook, from Cullercoats, entered the TeenStar competition for the second year, and have made it through to the regional finals of the singing competition specifically for teens and pre-teens.
The siblings will now be performing live showcases of the competition.
Mum Sharon said: “I am glad they got through to the live regional finals as it’s great experience for them preforming in a big venue in front of a live audience.”
The duo will now take part in a live regional heat alongside the best talent in the area, performing in front of hundreds of an audience and a professional judging panel for a place at the national final.
Chris Grayston, events coordinator for TeenStar, said: “We are looking to find an act that has something unique to offer, with both the ability to deliver a strong live performance but also potential to become a professional recording artist.”
