A TALENTED youngster from the borough hoping to carve out a career in theatre will be taking to the stage next week.
Whitley Bay High School’s Jessica Smith, will be performing in Bugsy Malone at the Young People’s Theatre as part of the Centenary celebrations for the People’s Theatre in Heaton.
The 15-year-old is using her interest and expertise in her GCSE subjects of music and drama to enhance her performance as Loretta, part of the Bugsy Trio.
Jess said: “I am thrilled to be part of such an exciting production.
“I can’t wait to get on that stage with everyone and be part of the show.”
This is the first time in 50 years that the Young People’s Theatre has been part of the main season at the People’s Theatre, and the show will feature all the songs, dances, set-pieces and splurge from the 1970s film.
Bugsy Malone will be at the People’s Theatre from November 23-26, at 7.30pm.
