When Aspects of Love first opened in 1989, Michael Ball was suddenly shot to fame with the song Love Changes Everything.
Tynemouth Operatic Society are hoping the same could happen for their leading man in the the world premiere of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s new definitive script of the show.
Seventeen-year-old Tom Bales is already a showbiz veteran, having started his acting career at the age of seven at Newcastle’s Theatre Royal next to Tommy Steele in the musical Scrooge, playing the role of Young Scrooge.
Tom is currently at Whitley Bay High School where he has performed the lead role of Galileo in We Will Rock You and Chris in Miss Saigon.
Tom said: “Aspects of Love is probably the most difficult role I have undertaken so far.
“I sing all the way through the show and hardly ever leave the stage.
“Unlike my school shows, which I knew already, I had never seen or knew anything about Aspects.
“This means I can bring a fresh approach to the role of Alex since I am not influenced by other peoples performances.”
Aspects of Love will be at the Playhouse Whitley Bay from Tuesday, February 25, until Saturday, March 1, at 7.15pm with a Saturday matinee at 2.15pm.
Tickets priced at £13 are available by calling 0844 248 1588.
