COUPLES Retreat is packed full of all our favourite rom-com actors and actresses.
But that alone is not enough to ensure a masterpiece.

Where it may look like just another mildly amusing romantic comedy, given a chance Couples Retreat is acutally a very entertaining film.

With quite literally an all-star cast that includes Vince Vaughn, Jason Bateman, Jon Favreau, Kristin Davis, and Kristen Bell, this was a film I was looking forward to seeing.

Following the story of four couples who jet off to a tropical island resort for a holiday with a twist - one of the couples is there to try and save their marriage and before long everyone is forced to endure the resort's couple's therapy sessions.

This is a film that has the Vince Vaughn stamp all over it - I was surprised not to see Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller crop up anywhere.

Vaughan offers up most of the laughs in Couples Retreat, and the shark scene is one of the funniest in the film.

Carlos Ponce, who plays Salvadore the Yoga instructor is brilliant.

At times Couples Retreat does try to ram home a message about marrige and relationship problems that really just isn't necessary in an otherwise funny film.

There's no denying Couples Retreat is a very good film, but it just felt as though it was trying to be the amazing Forgetting Sarah Marshall but failing.

If you haven't seen Forgetting Sarah Marshall, then this film is brilliant - but if you have, you'll probably find yourself likening the two heavily.
