NO special effects, no gimmicks, and no CGI - Be Kind Rewind is a film that relies on it's own unique simplicity to guarantee laughs.
In a time where CGI is rife, Be Kind Rewind makes a welcome return to realistic and simple comedy, with camera tricks and props made from everything and anything.

Be Kind Rewind tells the story of two friends Mike (Mos Def), who helps run a video store in Passaic, New Jersey, and Jerry (Jack Black)who lives in a trailer across the street - where he is convinced powerlines are damaging his brain.

When Be Kind's owner Mr Fletcher (Danny Glover) goes on holiday to a Jazz convention, he leaves Mike in charge with one simple message - keep Jerry out.

Before long the rule is broken and Jerry unknowingly demagnetises all the video tapes in the store just as Miss Falewicz (Mia Farrow) comes along wanting to rent Ghostbusters.

While Mr Fletcher spies on a successful local DVD store to gain ideas as to how to raise enough money to fix the condemned building Be Kind is in, Mike and Jerry set about making their own version of Ghostbusters in the hope that Miss Falewicz won't notice the difference between a cat and a ghost.

But little do they know that the video will become a huge success, and the demand for more films increases.

As they rope more and more people in, they expand their collection to include Robocop, Rocky, Driving Miss Daisy, Men in Black, Carrie, and many more.

But with the date of Be Kind's demolition fast approaching, will they be able to raise enough money to save the store?

Be Kind Rewind is an easy-to-watch, happy film with simple visual jokes that will have you wanting to recreate Robocop and Ghostbusters yourself.

The visual laughs are thick and fast, with the different props used to recreate the classic films providing most of the comedy.

The story-line is simple, but enjoyable, and the sub-plot about Passaic jazz legend Fats Waller gives the story a nice warming touch.

If you like 80s films, you will be in for a treat.
