KEVIN Keegan admits he has no idea where in his side new signing Jonas Gutierrez will start the new season.
But Keegan has no doubt the winger – signed from Real Mallorca earlier this month – will be a fixture for Newcastle United in the coming campaign.

Right-footed Gutierrez can play on either flank, but Keegan has seen enough of the 25-year-old in training to convince him the Argentina international can also be a threat up front alongside a target man.

Gutierrez only scored five goals for former club, but given his pace, Keegan believes he will wreak havoc in the Premier League this season.

Keegan said: "When you see him in training, you know he can play anywhere.

"He's absolutely top quality, and the fans are going to really like him. He knows the game, and he can play.

"He sees all the pitch, and maybe could play off a front man as well.

"I've never asked him that, but when you see him in training, he's another one who can really run and cover the ground.

"We've got some fit players here, and we won't be lacking on the fitness side.

"We'll still be running in the 90th minute."

Keegan also already experimented with his midfield this pre-season, with right winger James Milner starting the friendly away to Hartlepool United last Saturday in central midfield.
