STAFF and customers at Marks and Spencer’s Silverlink store have rallied together to raise £3,000 for Prostate Cancer UK.

The store held various fundraising events over three weekends, including a rowing machine marathon, in aid of the charity.

Other fundraising activities held by staff including asking customers to guess how many chocolate pigs could fit in a jar, a raffle and a home-baking day.

Anne Graham, the store’s manager, said: “We were thrilled to raise £3,000 for such a worthy cause.”

“We had great fun collecting funds, and I’d like to thank staff and customers for all of their generous efforts.”

The store has chosen the North East Air Ambulance as its local charity of the year and is about to embark on fundraising for it.
