A THEATRE company have praised the warm welcome and rave reviews given by pupils during their UK tour.
M&M Theatrical Productions visited King’s School, in Tynemouth, as part of their UK tour with their pantomime-style adaptation of ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’, which was met with enthusiasm from 400 pupils.
Actor and manager Jaime-Louise Jones, who played Quasimodo’s mum, said: “This show was a highlight of our north east tour.
“King’s Hall was a perfect venue for us with ample staging and space for our dance numbers, fight scenes and slapstick. The sound was as good as in a cathedral.
“The children were wonderful too. They applauded, cheered and booed at every cue and their energy lifted us. We felt like stars.”
Head of King’s Junior School Kate Benson said: “M&M Productions visit us every year. They present a very professional show which always leaves the pupils enchanted and creates a buzz of discussion right through the day.
“This year’s production was funny and heart-warming. It’s lovely when the theatre comes into our school and we are always pleased to welcome other schools to enjoy the shows.’’
