Two days of family-filled fun are planned when the Wallsend Festival returns this weekend.

There will be live music, stalls, fairground rides and a vintage car display in the town centre and in the Forum Shopping Centre on Saturday.

Wallsend Customer First Centre will host activities including face painting, choir performances and a display from Wallsend Local History Society.

On Sunday, the action moves to the park and green areas with the 3SIXTY bicycle stunt team, and circus entertainers. There is also a climbing wall, archery and a funfair.

Wallsend Festival is organised by North Tyneside Council with support from community organisations. Visit www.visitnorthtyne side.com

The town will also host the Event @ Segedunum, an outdoor music festival for 11 to 18-year-olds, on Saturday, with the winners going on to perform at the Mouth of the Tyne Festival.

Coun Eddie Darke, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Culture and Tourism said: “This is always an extremely popular event that people from across the borough and beyond look forward to. I know the weekend will provide lots of things to see and do for everyone.”
