Appeal after exposure by teenage boy

Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager exposed himself in Cullercoats.

The incident took place on Sunday, September 28, at 1.30pm in Kirklington Road when a woman in her 50s was walking along the road next to Hartington Road and a teenage boy approached her from behind.

He asked her for directions to Foxhunters roundabout and then indecently exposed himself.

The woman was left upset and shaken by the incident.

The offender is described as aged approximately 14, white, was of slim build, 5ft 2in tall with short straight fair hair and distinctive silver braces on both upper and lower teeth.

He was wearing light grey jogging bottoms, a maroon coloured zipped hooded top and a light coloured T-shirt.

Police are appealing for witnesses and for anyone who may recognise the youth from the description given to contact them.

They also said it was the only incident of this nature reported in the area.
