Armed raiders threatened staff at a social club as they opened on Sunday.
Two men forced their way into Tynemouth and District Social Club, on Front Street, at 9.15am on October 19.
The pair, one of whom is believed to have been armed with a handgun, entered via the rear of the premises.
They demanded cash and a member of staff was pushed against the door, causing an injury to his arm. The offenders left with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Staff were shocked by the incident one member of staff was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The first offender is described as white, stocky build, aged approximately late 30s, 5ft 10ins tall wearing a black hoodie with a scarf across his face, jeans, trainers and gloves.
The second man, armed with a handgun, is aged approximately mid 30s, slim build, 5ft 6 ins to 5ft 8ins tall, with what is described as a ‘bony’ face, wearing a grey hoodie and a dark scarf to his face.
Police are appealing for witnesses anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact them.
Officers carried out door to door enquiries with local businesses and residents.
