Families are being offered the chance to make the most of the half term holidays after attractions and restaurants teamed up with the Metro system.
A range of money-saving incentives are being offered by a range of venues before the children go back to school.
Among those taking part are the Blue Reef Aquarium in Tynemouth.
A full list of offers are available on the Nexus website.
Emma Brough, customer service and operations director at DB Regio, which maintains and operates trains and stations on the Metro system, said: “Our money-saving offers will hopefully make it easier on the purse-strings for families during the holidays.
“Our Metro stations are only a stone’s throw away from some great attractions and restaurants, so it makes sense to team up with them to give passengers something extra.”
Rosie Wiggin, from Blue Reef Aquarium in Tynemouth, said: “This fantastic offer gives Metro passengers the opportunity to discover more about the marine world and its amazing inhabitants, with talks and feeding displays taking place throughout the day.
“We hope it will make more people aware of transport options available to us all – with Blue Reef Aquarium just a short walk away from Metro stations.”
All passengers have to do is show a valid Metro ticket or pass at each of the venues to be entitled to any of these exciting offers.
