Residents with historical or sentimental items are being offered the chance to have them valued.

Auctioneers Warwick and Warwick Ltd are holding a valuation day at the Park Hotel, Grand Parade, Tynemouth, on Tuesday, February 10, from 9am to 1pm.

The company specialise in coins, banknotes, stamps, medals, militaria, postcards, cigarette cards, die cast toys and model railways.

The public are invited to come along to the hotel to meet Warwick and Warwick’s company representative and discuss the possible sale of their collectables.

A company spokesperson said: “We have been to the area many times before and have always been delighted with the response.

“Many people do not realise that they have possessions of value, especially postcard collections, where the black and white real photographic views, such as those illustrated are well collected and very popular at auction.

“Military medals and militaria are also often more valuable than people imagine, always attracting strong bids on sale days. Coin collections are also fetching high prices at present.”
