STAFF at a North Shields care home are celebrating after winning two awards.
Redesdale Court in North Shields won ‘Housekeeping Team of the Year’ and nurse Chris March ‘Nurse of the Year’ at the Helen McArdle Care Recognition Awards.
Nominated by residents, families and colleagues, more than 200 staff attended the ceremony.
Kristine Smith, care home manager at Redesdale Court said: “I am so proud that Chris and our housekeeping team won these awards.
“Everyone works so hard to ensure the highest quality of care for our residents and it is great to be recognised for that.”
The awards were held to honour the “dedication, care and motivation” of staff, said chairman and founder Helen McArdle.
“The evening was a true celebration of Helen McArdle Care our achievements,” she added.
Nurse of the Year Chris said: “I was surprised to receive this award but I am proud I did.
“I would like to thank Helen and everyone that nominated me.”
After being nominated, senior managers at the company short-listed and interviewed candidates to determine the winners.
Head of housekeeping Neil Lafferty was presented the award for his team.
