TWO borough volunteers highlighting the support of Parkinson’s UK have been honoured for their work.

David Burnside and Gerry Daniel were presented with awards, for their contribution to establishing the North Tyneside branch, by BBC Look North presenter Jeff Brown at the charity’s north east regional award ceremony.

Gerry said: “Having Parkinson’s disease can be life-changing, however, a group such as ours can give support and advice.”

The North Tyneside branch meets at St Andrew’s Church in Monkseaton on the third Monday of the month at 1pm.
