Pedalling pals hit the road to complete a 130-mile bike ride.
Friends Pat Higham, Diane Green, Alison Ward, Ann Morris, Fiona James and mother-and-daughter pair Pam and Alex Lloyd took on a coast-to-coast challenge to raise funds for charity.
The group, supported by Vince Glassock, of Sports Recycler in South Shields, started by dipping their wheels in the Irish Sea and finished by repeating the ritual in the North Sea at Tynemouth.
A total of £3,300 was raised, and it will be shared between Breakthrough Breast Cancer, Parkinson’s UK, the British Heart Foundation and Save the Children.
Ms Higham said: “Considering the average age of our group was 50-plus, I think we did ourselves and our charities proud.”
