GREEN-fingered residents are helping to get their community blooming again.

Blooming Monkseaton, a friends group of Churchill and Souter Parks, have planted a range of plants in the area.

They held their community planting day at Souter Park, where they were joined by Mayor Linda Arkley and other officials from North Tyneside Council.

Group members planted a wide selection of plants to help the area look colourful and bright this summer.
