A LIMITED edition book has hit the shelves telling the tale of the new Tyne Tunnel.

A year after the second crossing opened, bosses have launched The Tyne Tunnels – a glossy, fully-illustrated book of the £260m Tyne Crossing project.

It also looks at the other tunnels – the original road tunnel, the cyclist tunnel and the pedestrian tunnel.

Rachel Turnbull, CEO of Tyne Tunnels operator TT2 Ltd, said: “We are incredibly proud of the Tyne Tunnels and the impacts they have had on people’s lives.

“We thought we should celebrate this by sharing some of the behind-the-scenes stories and pictures.”

The book, priced £20, will be available to buy from TT2’s offices and other outlets from December 14, but is available for £12 by pre-ordering from www.tt2.co.uk
