A debut crime thriller from north east author Rebecca Muddiman has been chosen as this year’s ‘Summer Read’ by North Tyneside Council.
Stolen follows the story of Abby Henshaw and her baby daughter Beth, who disappears from Abby’s car after it is run off the road by strangers.
The case turns cold, until years later when another child goes missing, leading to a series of events that culminate in a brutal confrontation with the truth.
Copies of the book are available for £4 from libraries in Whitley Bay, Wallsend, North Shields and Killingworth.
Coun Eddie Darke, cabinet member for leisure, tourism and culture, said: “I am delighted to be launching our annual Summer Read, which is now in its third year.
“Supporting writers from the region, encouraging local talent and giving our residents the chance to sample new authors is vitally important.
“I’m sure Stolen will be a big hit with our readers this summer.”
The Summer Read campaign culminates with an author event on Tuesday, September 24, at Whitley Bay Library, where Rebecca will talk about her book.
