Boost for shopping centre as North Tyneside Council move in – Video

A SHOPPING centre in North Tyneside’s been handed a big boost.

The Forum shopping centre in Wallsend is expecting an increase in visitor numbers, after a new and improved Wallsend Customer Service Centre opened this week.

North Tyneside Council has four Customer Service Centres – in Killingworth, North Shields, Wallsend and Whitley Bay – which provide advice and information on a range of council services, including housing and benefits.

The new Wallsend Customer Service Centre has moved from Park House, Park Road, due to the poor condition of the building and is now at home in a plush new office and the new customer service centre offers greater comfort and privacy as well as better access for people with disabilities.

The new Wallsend Customer Service Centre also boasts the ability to offer a range of services, including advice and information on a range of council services; payment facilities; self-serve terminals to access information and apply for services online; customer service booths and private interview rooms; a comfortable waiting area, including a small children’s play area; improved access for people with disabilities.
